La catedral armenia San Gregorio El Iluminador, ubicada en el barrio de Palermo, en el predio del Centro Armenio de la República Argentina, ha sido incluida en el programa turístico oficial del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires “Conociendo BA”, que propone un circuito para que los turistas que visitan la ciudad capturen su identidad y su esencia a través de sus barrios, parques, bosques, monumentos, teatros, arquitectura, historia, patrimonio cultural y museos más representativos, acompañados por guías provistos por el Gobierno de la Ciudad.

For Argentine-Armenians, his election is particularly significant, and has been moving. Many of them have seen him in person, and not a few have spoken with the spiritual leader of 1.2 billion Catholics all over the world. Monsignor Bergoglio, an easy man to approach who used public transportation in Buenos Aires at the time he was the city’s archbishop, was a close friend of the Armenian community and the Prelate of the Armenian Church in Argentina, Archbishop Kissag Mouradian.
