AIWA Presents Newly Translated Books by Famed Author Zabel Yessayan

Zabel Yessayan is remembered as one of the most talented and prolific Western Armenian writers of the modern era. Yet, few of her works have been translated into Western languages, and even fewer into English. In order to introduce the English-language reader to the diverse output of this outstanding author, the Armenian International Women’s Association (AIWA) arranged the translation of select works and release two books of Yessayan’s writings at a Publication Party on Sunday, March 23, at the Armenian Cultural Foundation (ACF) in Arlington, Mass.

The Gomidas Institute Publishes the English Translation of Hagop Oshagan's "Remnants"

Hagop Oshagan, one of the greatest Armenian novelists of the twentieth century, was born in Brusa (Anatolia) in 1883 and died in Aleppo (Syria) in 1948. He was the author of a series of groundbreaking novels and short stories, as well as several plays and an extensive production of literary criticism, including his 10-volume Panorama of Western Armenian Literature.

The following review of Deep Mountain: Across the Turkish-Armenian Divide, by Turkish journalist Ece Temelkuran, was published in the Winter 2011 issue of New Politics. The author, G. M. Goshgarian, is an accomplished literary scholar and translator. One of his most recent translations, Hagop Oshagan's novel on the Armenian Catastrophe, Remnants, still unpublished, won a PEN Club translation award in 2009.
